Has anyone found a successful way to *manually* update this service, or should I disable it from my clients? I am not sure if I completely explained the problem.

After few minutes , it will automatically push the definition to SEPM console and it will be distributed to clients in few minutes, All of my clients (100 ) took about 20 minutes to update.

I occasionally come across computers that will never be connected to the internet but are still vulnerable to viruses through other sources (ex. What I need is a solution where I can drop the updates on the machines, or connect to them directly (via x-over cable) to download the updates locally.

I know there was a discussion around a tool to do this but cannot find reference to Symantec relasing one

I update Symantec Endpoint Protection's Antivirus and Antispyware Protection manually.

The Proactive Threat Protection always says "Waiting for Updates." How can I update PTP without an Internet connection?
